El Pasado Simple -verbos regulares /Past Simple (regular verbs)
PAST SIMPLE
We use the Past Simple to talk about finished actions in the past.
- With regular verbs, we usually add 'ed' to the verb.
Examples: talk: talked watch: watched wait: waited
- If the verbs ends in 'e' (for example, live), we add 'd' to the
verb.
Examples: use:used like: liked celebrate: celebrated
- If a short verb ends in a vowel + consonant (for example, plan), we
double the consonant and add 'ed'.
Examples: stop:stopped admit: admitted travel: travelled
- If the verb ends in consonant + 'y' (for example, try), we change the 'y'
to 'i'and add 'ed'.
Examples: study: studied carry: carried marry: married
Signal words: 'yesterday', '2 minutes ago', 'in 1990', 'the other day', 'last
Friday'…
